Santa Paws is Coming

Thats Nalla and me with Santa Paws.  Nalla didn’t know who Santa Paws is so I had to explain to her.  I really didn’t know either until just recently.  Everybody tells the story a little differently, but here’s what I’ve managed to figure out…

Every year around this time this fat guy named Santa Paws puts on his red pajamas and goes around the world giving out treats to good kids like me.  All year long he watches us and keeps a list of who’s good and who’s bad.  If we’re bad we don’t get any treats.  But if we’re good we get lots of toys and treats.  That’s all I really know.

He officially makes his rounds on Christmas Eve, but this weekend when we were at PetSmart we saw him.  He must have been there shopping for treats for me because he knows that’s my favorite store.  He sat us on his lap and asked what we want for Christmas.  So I told him I want a new blue bumpy bone like the one Nalla keeps taking away from me, a bag of Chicken Poppers, a bag of Chicken Chips, and a giant Kong stuffed with other treats.  I told him where everything is so he shouldn’t have trouble finding them.  He said he’ll see what he can do.

I don’t think Nalla’s going to get anything because she’s always naughty.  The only time she’s not getting into trouble is when she’s sleeping.  So I’m sure she must be on Santa’s naughty list.  But I’ve been very good, so I’m going to get everything I asked for.

My sister Nalla is here. She came Saturday afternoon.  My mom and dad went to the airport to get her.  They brought her home and stayed outside with her and brought me out to meet her.  I guess they wanted to make sure it was ok with me to let her in the house.  So I sniffed her butt real good to make sure she’s the type we want in our house.  She checked out ok so I let them know it was ok to let her in the house.

It was a little weird at first.  She followed me everywhere.  She still does, but I don’t think it’s weird anymore.  I didn’t realize this at first, but I think she’s going to live with us forever.

At first I thought she was going to just come over and play whenever I wanted her to.  Then she would go home.  But I found out that she doesn’t have another home to go to.  So I guess she’ll be staying with us.

Having her around is kinda nice at times, but sometimes a sister can be a real pain.  She took all my toys and played with them.  She even took the new blue bumpy bone dad got me for my birthday.  Now I don’t want them anymore.  And sometimes I’m just standing there minding my own business and she comes over and bites me.  When I go to bite back my dad tells me to play nice and not bite her!  But she started it!

But then there are times when she’s in trouble and I want to help her.  Like last night when everyone went to sleep.  She was crying in her crate because she was scared.  I went over and tried to open the door, but I don’t have fingers.  So I sat with her for a little while to make her feel better.  Then I got tired of her whining and went downstairs for some peace and quiet.  No need for both of us to lose sleep.

My Sister Nalla
My Sister Nalla

I just saw some pictures of my new sister.  They didn’t tell me she’s a Pomeranian too!  So she’s just like me!  Here’s a picture of her.  Isn’t she cute?  Of course she’d have to be cute for people to believe she’s my sister.  My parents named her Nalla.  There’s a surprise.  I guess that’s a nice name.  She’s coming from Sharp Poms.  They’re a Pomeranian breeder.  In case you don’t know, that means the stork brings Pomeranian puppies to them.  My parents said she will be here Saturday afternoon.  I’m going to take a bath that morning so I smell good when she comes.

I wonder what kind of toys she will bring.  I hope she likes to play the same games I do like Pull the Rope and Squeak the Toy.

There’s so much important stuff I don’t know about her.  Like I wonder if she’s a lefty or a righty.  If you’re not a Pomeranian you won’t understand.  But we Poms like to spin in tight circles.  We spin when we’re excited, when we’re frustrated, when we’re angry and even when we go potty.  Some of us spin to the left, some spin to the right.  I’m a lefty.  I hope she is too so we don’t bump into each other.

I’ll just have to wait until Saturday to find out everything.  So when will it be Saturday?

Happy Birthday

Today is my birthday.  I’m 2 years old.  That’s 21 in human years, but I don’t feel a day over 2.  If you ever want to know how old a dog is in human years there’s a good article on Wikipedia.  But I digress…

For my birthday my mom gave me this cake.  It’s not a real cake, it’s a toy that looks like a cake.  Pretty cool, eh?  On Saturday my dad said he’s going to take me to PetsMart to let me pick out a toy.  That’s my favoritest store in the whole world!  They have everything there; toys, treats and more toys and treats!  I’m going to get another rubber bone like the one I had.  It was blue with little bumps on it.  I tore it to shreds so my mom threw it out.  I miss that bone so that’s what I’m going to get.

I heard some more about my sister.  She’s coming from Arizona.  That’s like really far away from here, I think.  She must think I’m really special to want to come all the way out here to play with me.  I am.  I’m just surprised word travels that far about me.  She’s coming in a few weeks.  I’ll see if I can get a picture of her to post here.
